Contempora Gallery
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
1965
The project was to design the interior of a new art gallery in strip shopping center. The budget was minimal. The solution was minimal……burlap, wood trim at 4'centers, a sand box at the floor for pottery and small sculptures and panels perpendicular to the walls.
The idea was a simple organic ordering of the space, but did require some understanding of its most effective use. The photos are of the first show which I hung as a guide.
A year later I met Mary Courson working there, and 15 months later made her Mary Duckham.
