Ft. Lauderdale Museum of the Arts
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
1963
In 1963 the art museum was just a few years old, located in a rental store space and attempting to grow. A patron had donated a piece of property on S. Federal Highway and it was decided to have an architectural competition to identify an appropriate design. This design took second place. Nothing further happened. The site was not desirable and the program was inadequate. It would be many years before the museum would find their permanent home.
