This house was designed for a young couple in their mid thirties, as a family house, as they intended to have three children.
            The site looked east over a very wide section of Biscayne Bay. It was so vulnerable to potential storm surge that the building code required the lowest floor level to be six feet above grade. This became a dominant factor in the scale and massing of the architecture. The solution was a composition of vigorous interplay of geometric forms defined and clarified by voids (glass). Again the exterior is a direct reflection of interior spaces, and the interlocking elements continue inside.
            Floors on the main living level are Silver Travertine marble. The upper level is carpeted and includes the Master Suite on one side with a bridge across the Living/Dining Room to children's bedrooms and a playroom over the Kitchen and Family Room.
            After two years of design and construction, and just a few years living there, they sold the house and moved back to Michigan.
