Mangurian House
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
1968
The client was a bachelor and a past client for the Mangurian's Contemporary Furniture Store, a 1965 project. The structure was modular heavy timber, including the sloping side walls, which were clad in Cedar shingles. Coral stone provided a massive base for the heavy timber sloping columns and two walls of the carport. The chimney and fireplace hood were clad in standing seam copper. The two second floor bedrooms and study were open to the living space below, and dual jalousies at the two end walls provided privacy and ventilation.
