Pete's at Deerfield Pier
Deerfield Beach, Florida
2004
This was a speculative project for the same client for whom we had done "Pete's" 17 years earlier. He had been tipped off by someone in city government that there might be a possibility of a huge coup. The Deerfield Beach Fishing Pier is a focal point for a very popular beach destination, further enhanced by two very successful bar/restaurants directly on the beach.
This project was to be a large two story restaurant/bar to be located on a parcel of land that was occupied by a parking area and a small restaurant which was attached to the fishing pier entrance structure. It would also have included an all new and improved pier entrance, and beach take-out/covered picnic structure……a very generous offer and a big win for Pete.
We went through planning & zoning board presentations, and did get approval, but there was loud resistance from the SOB (save our beach) group, and the city commission killed it.
