Vincent Beach House
Marathon Key, Florida
1995
Another unbuilt project for my ongoing "star" hospitality client. The site was a corner beach front lot between the Atlantic Ocean and a side canal to the north.
The main living areas were raised above flood tide level as required by the Keys building codes. The floor plan was basically symetrical with three bedrooms to the north and south under hip roofs and the living, dining, kitchen and foyer in between on a 45 degree angle, under a larger hip roof. Sliding doors opened to a wide "L" shaped terrace and were pocketed out of sight for complete openness to the ocean view.
Materials were to be saw cut Coral stone, brown brick, raw board formed concrete and blue/green patina copper fascias. Another favorite unbuilt project.
