Chesapeake Seafood House
Margate & Jacaranda, Florida
1977
The client owned the New England Oyster House chain, which was aging, and was looking for a new concept for freestanding, upscale restaurants.
The Margate, Florida project did get built……but no photos. The site was bordered on two sides by water and had several outside dining decks. The interior was centered by a massive brick fireplace, and had a second floor balcony lounge, also anchored by a fireplace. Materials were heavy timber, brick, wood and a barn type tin roof.
Working drawings were completed for the second one in Jacaranda, Florida but was never built.
