Gori Cabin

Lake Toxaway, North Carolina

1996

The client owned what was originally the Salvati House. This was to be a vacation cabin, on the golf course, in the Lake Toxaway development.
The lot was small and had a wide creek right down the middle of it. First an adjustment to the building setback line was necessary in order to build at all. The carport had to be on the other side of the creek in order to have access from the street. A bridge solved that problem and made for a very unique entrance to the small cabin.
The structure was basically a gable roof with very low eves on the lower level. The master bedroom was an open loft over the two guest bedrooms below and the living area was a two story space.
The client still owns the lot, but it never got built. Too bad.
