Oakland Park Fire Station

Oakland Park, Florida

1963

The project was a new fire station for a small (at that time) suburb of Ft. Lauderdale…….exposed concrete block, pre-stressed concrete roof slab, formed patina copper fascias and a red door.
Actually the young fire chief (client) was the one promoting for a new station. The town council did not go for it until years later, when a very common but much larger facility was built.
