Tampa Bay Floating Pool

Tampa, Florida

1974

My client for the Palmer House, a few years earlier, was also an engineer and inventor, and had acquired a patent on the "floating" swimming pool concept. I became involved in designing several versions, with the intention of developing a marketable product.
A potential investor owned a small piece of land, which was mostly under water, adjacent to the public beach, on the causeway to Clearwater. So we all spent a couple of exciting months working on this project. It did get some good publicity, but probably had a zero chance of ever being realized.
